Coach Kent: PE Teacher

Hello! I am Derek Kent This is my 6^th year at Club Hill STEM as the Physical Education teacher and my 15^th year teaching in G.I.S.D. It is an honor to be able to work for the school district that I grew up in. I attended Routh Roach Elementary, Obanion Middle School, and South Garland High School; Shoutout Colonels, Class of 2005! I received my Bachelors Degree at the University of North Texas.

I have been involved in sports all of my life, and I have a passion

for working with young people and encouraging them to enjoy a variety of sports, exercise, and games. I truly believe that Physical Education and sports teach so many valuable skills and lessons

that can help students achieve success in many other areas of their lives. I will always prioritize safety, sportsmanship, and work ethic as I work daily with students to foster a love and appreciation for exercise and competition. CLIMB high, Cougars!
