Coach Kent: PE Teacher
Hello! I am Derek Kent This is my 6th year at Club Hill STEM as the Physical Education teacher and my 15th year teaching in G.I.S.D. It is an honor to be able to work for the school district that I grew up in. I attended Routh Roach Elementary, Obanion Middle School, and South Garland High School; Shoutout Colonels, Class of 2005! I received my Bachelors Degree at the University of North Texas.
I have been involved in sports all of my life, and I have a passion
for working with young people and encouraging them to enjoy a variety of sports, exercise, and games. I truly believe that Physical Education and sports teach so many valuable skills and lessons
that can help students achieve success in many other areas of their lives. I will always prioritize safety, sportsmanship, and work ethic as I work daily with students to foster a love and appreciation for exercise and competition. CLIMB high, Cougars!
Coach Brown: PE Para
Hello, my name is Coach Drew Brown! I am the P.E. para at Club Hill STEM. This is my 7th year in education as well as in G.I.S.D. I also happen to be a proud product of this awesome and dynamic
school district. I attended Southgate Elementary, Brandenburg Middle School, and Rowlett High School under the administration of the late Dr. Marlene Hammerle; shout out to the class of 2012!
During high school I was heavily involved in football and our boys step team. Competing is something I love to do. Later, I received an Associates Degree from Eastfield College and two Bachelors Degrees from Texas College in Tyler, TX. My ultimate goal in education is to motivate and educate the upcoming generations of students by building positive and healthy relationships and ensuring they have a bright future.
