There are many of you that I have not had the pleasure of meeting, I wanted to let you know more about me, and what I would like to accomplish.
I am married, and a mom of 4, 3 girls and 1 boy. One of my daughters is married, and I have twin girls who are both very active in sports, they attend school in Rockwall, where I live. Our son is in the Navy and is enjoying working on his ship. My husband is a Dallas Fire Fighter, and in his spare time does “handy man” work.
I went to school at Hillcrest High School and graduated in 1987, I then got my Associates Degree in Science Medical Assist, and began working in the medical field at a Medical Assist in ’91, working 11 yrs. In pediatrics’ and OB-gyn. In 1999 I joined the Air Force reserves, were I received my AD in Science Surgery Technologist, I worked in the OR as a surgery tech., but whenever I decided in 2012 to go back and get my BSN as a RN, I then worked on the floor, Surgical ICU and Labor and Delivery, and in the ER, as a Patient Care Specialist, all while keeping up my operating room skills as a surgery tech and anesthesia tech.
Once I graduated with my BSN, I continued my work in the OR, and I also did 6mos of training at Parkland in their ER, the drive was a little too much for my busy family life, so I decided to do jobs closer to home.
I continue to serve in the military as a reservist, and proud to have 20 yrs. of service under my belt, In the reserves I am trained as a Mass Casualty specialist, Surgery Tech trauma, and Infection Control tech.
I am very happy to be a part of Cooper Elementary, and help you with any medical needs that may arise. I want this year to go great for you, me and our students, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to come talk with me, I am here for you all as well as the students.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward in meeting you all, and finding out more about you.
