Houses Shield

Cooper Houses

Cooper Elementary has adopted the housing system.  Many of our teachers have visited the Ron Clark Academy and would like to implement some of his successful strategies for students.  The house system promotes school wide commitment, consistency and character.

The house system brings about a consistent manner of PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Systems).

  -in all areas

  -by all staff

  -for all students

-allowing students to know what to expect

Older students will have opportunities to be leaders and examples to the younger grades within their house.  Every staff member and student will belong to a house to help us build our school culture.

Avid

Cooper is now an AVID school and are preparing our students for college and career readiness.  It is important to start with a strong academic foundation in elementary school to prepare students for future success. Currently, AVID strategies are used in 33 of our elementary schools. These strategies are used in daily lessons across entire grade levels. Our goal is to give all students access to a path to success.
