Teacher Bio: Hello! My name is Mrs. Leal, and I teach 4th grade reading and writing. I'm a proud product of Garland ISD and a graduate of Midwestern State University. I've been teaching at Cooper Elementary since 2013. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two children. We love watching movies and playing together as a family. I'm passionate about helping students learn, grow, and reach their full potential!

Teacher Bio: Hello, I am Amy Rice. Although this is my first year at Cooper, it is my 27th year teaching. I have also now have had the unique experience teaching all grades from 1st through 12th. I love teaching and seeing each student grow and achieve throughout the year. It is an honor and pleasure to share your child with you and to be able to help each one succeed and reach beyond their first belief. I grew up in Mesquite and am a cat mom to two fur babies Coa-Coa Batman age 14 years, and Cinnamon Spicer (Cynman) age 10 years. My one sibling currently lives in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but will be relocating to Georgia soon with my nephew.

Teacher Bio: My name is Lorraine Pomales, and I am currently the 4th & 5th grade Math and Science Bilingual teacher. I am entering my 8th year of teaching at Cooper Elementary. Prior to this role, I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade in Garland/Cooper. Before joining Garland ISD, I spent three years teaching Kindergarten and 3rd grade in Dallas ISD. I have a deep passion for education and truly enjoy working with children. I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their academic growth and development. Outside of the classroom, I am married and have four children and one grandchild. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, going to church, and singing.

Bio: Hello, Cooper Cougar families!

My name is Ms. Caroline Moreno, and I am so excited to be your child's 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher this year! This is my first year at Cooper Elementary, and I am incredibly  grateful to be joining such a welcoming school community. It is truly an honor to be part of your child's educational journey, and I can't wait to learn and grow alongside each of my students.

Science and social studies help us understand both the world around us and the people who share it. Throughout the year, we'll explore exciting scientific discoveries, learn from history, and build meaningful connections that encourage students to think critically, work together, and appreciate different perspectives.

I believe that families are an essential part of a child's success. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year through open communication, encouragement, and teamwork. Together, we can help your child grow not only academically, but also in confidence, character, and compassion. 

I strive to create welcoming spaces that make people feel at home. One of my favorite parts of teaching is designing a classroom where students feel comfortable, inspired, and excited to learn each day.

I hope every student leaves our classroom knowing they are capable of amazing things. My greatest wish is that our classroom becomes a place where students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to be the very best version of themselves.
