The school is named after Ed Coyle, one of the founding fathers of Rowlett, Texas.

Mr. Coyle was known for his strong community spirit and service to others. Our hope is that our students will follow his example by caring about their community and serving those around them.

Coyle Middle School, the first middle school in Rowlett, was built in 1973. We currently have about 1300 students in grades 6, 7, and 8.

We have many different clubs and organizations in which students may participate. Groups and individual students bring numerous honors to our campus through their achievements. We want students to be strong academically and we encourage them to be active in school organizations and activities. We truly have something for everyone.

Coyle school song

With memories of pleasant days and friends we've met along the way.

These times we know will all seem dear, as we travel thru the years.

Remember all these things with pride, our friends, our school, our trusted guide.

With grateful hearts we sing to you: To Coyle Middle School.
