Technology Center for Math & Science

Our school is in the process of transitioning to a new school model, where we are changing from Coyle Middle School to Coyle Technology Center for Math & Science, one of GISD’s Innovative Schools of Choice

For the 2022-23 school year, all incoming sixth grade students are automatically* part of our new Math, Science, Technology (MST) school model. This transition is a phased-in process that adds a new grade level each year.  For example, in 2023-24 students in sixth and seventh grade will be part of the MST school.

Students in the Coyle MST school are empowered to have a voice in what and how they learn. Through a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) based learning environment students develop teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and strong communication skills.

Our inquiry-based learning approach triggers student’s curiosity, encourages thoughtful conversations and collaboration, and promotes life-long learning.

The MST school provides students with a strong foundation to enter the modern 21st century workplace. Students that graduate from a MST based program are innovative, critical thinkers, able to apply the skills learned in the classroom to real-world situations. Our goal at Coyle MST is to prepare students for future successes, empowering and developing them at an early age to graduate ready for college, careers, and life in a global economy.

*2022-23 Coyle MST sixth graders do not need to apply or meet specific criteria to participate. This differs from the Jackson MST magnet program where students must apply and be accepted to attend.
