I cannot begin to express how excited I am to serve the Davis community once again! I am embarking on my eighth year at Davis and I look forward to another outstanding year with the students, parents, and staff of this great community.
I am a native of North Carolina and I am starting my 28th year in education. Before being named principal of Davis Elementary I was the principal at Toler Elementary School in Garland ISD for 6 years. Prior to serving as a campus principal I was an assistant principal for 7 years and a classroom teacher for 8 years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and my Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Woman’s University (TWU).
I look forward to working with you and your child throughout the year to provide a productive and safe learning environment that supports student success.
Our Assistant Principal
I could not be more thrilled to come back home to Davis as the Assistant Principal! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with familiar faces and getting to know the students, staff, and parents that I’ve not yet had the opportunity to work with.
I am a product of GISD schools, and have spent my entire career in Garland ISD. I started my career as a long term substitute at Carver Elementary in 2nd grade. I then taught 5th grade at Toler Elementary. From there, I taught 5th grade for 3 years at Davis Elementary. I have spent the past 2 years as the AVID Elementary Specialist, where I supported 37 elementary schools in GISD. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Southern Methodist University (SMU).
I look forward to making this the best school year yet!
Our School Nurse
Hello! My name is Whitney Palmer, and I am so excited to be the school nurse at Davis! I received my Bachelor's degree in Nursing from UTA in 2015, and have worked my entire career in pediatric nursing. It is so rewarding! In my off time, I enjoy singing, swimming, riding bikes, gardening, and doing puzzles...as well as taking care of my 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 6 chickens! I am looking forward to a great upcoming school year at Davis!
