Did you know you can help raise money and make a difference for your child's school simply by purchasing specially marked items? Box Tops for Education is a program where your can earn cash for your child's school by clipping and trimming Box Tops. Every time you purchase a Box Top for Education product, trim the Box Top on the dotted line and send it to school with you child.
Do you enjoy playing chess? If so, 3rd - 5th Graders who are interested may join us in the library for a game filled morning on Friday's from 7:30-7:50 and after school on Tuesdays. Passes are available in the gym and cafeteria.
Grandparents' Day celebrates grandparents of our Dorsey students. They are invited to come to school with their grandchild and enjoy a morning of special activities and performances.
In the Spring, students try to read 3,300 books (1 book for each mile across America) during a two week period. Classes compete to see who can read the most.
In 2020 we hit a school record high with a total of 8,880 books read!
A special night for K-2 students and families. Special reading centers are set up throughout the school for families to enjoy. Activities range from make and take projects to computer based programs.
!Kindness Club is an organization that aims to spread kindness school-wide through our actions. 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students can make our school better by helping others through random acts of kindness.
The annual Dorsey Turkey Trot is on the day before our Thanksgiving Break. Students and families gobble and run/walk on a course around our school grounds.
