Library
Welcome to the library!
Hi, I’m Rochelle Menendez, but everyone calls me Ms. Ro—it’s easier to remember, right? I’m your friendly teacher-librarian, and I’m so excited to help every student discover the joy of reading. After spending thirteen wonderful years in the bilingual classroom, I made the move to the library because I wanted to connect with all our readers and support them on their learning journey.
In 2014, I earned my Master’s in Educational Technology Leadership and Library Science from Texas A&M University. Since then, I’ve been on a daily adventure, helping students find books that speak to their hearts and inspire them to see themselves in the stories they read. My goal is to create a library collection that’s as diverse and unique as our students, so everyone can learn about themselves, their community, and the world around them.
What our library is all about
Our mission is to make reading something our Bobcats love—not just something they “have to do.” Every day, we work to:
-
Build and strengthen a school-wide reading culture by curating a library collection that meets the needs of our students and teachers.
-
Host exciting events and initiatives that showcase the fun and magical power of reading.
-
Cultivate a lifelong love of reading that helps our students grow academically and personally, and positively impacts our families and the broader community.
Nothing makes me prouder than hearing students thank me at the end of the year for “getting me into reading.” That’s what keeps me going!

TumbleBooks
Need a book but don't have time to visit the library? Try TumbleBooks! TumbleBooks are animated, talking picture books which teach kids the joy of reading in a format they'll love. TumbleBooks Library takes existing picture books, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce an electronic picture book. You can read it, or have it read to you. The school district has already purchased a subscription for your child to use. The username and password is available from your child, your child’s teacher, or the school librarian.
