Meet the coach

Hello and welcome to Ethridge Elementary PE.  I would like to thank you for allowing us to teach your child about the importance of Physical Education. My name is Jose Barreto Ramos and I am your Physical Education teacher along with Coach Poovey and Coach Harden.

To help make your child's visit enjoyable and productive, please remember these 2 helpful tips.  One, wear tennis shoes to allow for full participation.  And two, if there is a medical issue I should be aware of, please send me a note.  Let's have a great year!!!

Dress code for P.E.

Your child will be coming to P.E. three times per week. We want all of our students to be safe during their time in our class. It is very important to be wearing the proper attire to ensure that everyone gets to fully participate in our gym activities! Please allow your child to wear or bring tennis shoes on his/her P.E. days. Girls will need to wear shorts under their dress if they wear one on P.E. day.  If you have any questions regarding the dress code for P.E., please contact Coach Barreto.

Medical attention

We need to know if any medical history or present condition will limit your child's participation.  Any student who needs to be excused from Physical Education due to illness or injury must have a note or email from a parent. If the student needs to be excused for more than 3 days a doctor’s note is needed.
