Broadcast Team
Our morning announcements are presented every morning by the broadcast team with members from fifth grade.
This endeavor allows our students to cultivate essential qualities needed in any career such as communication, versatility and being a good team player.
The anchors prepare the news each morning gathering news items from different sources. Instead of working with a script, they are encourage to let their personality and creativity shine through while delivering accurate information.

Art
Meet Mrs. Farris
I am the Art Instructor at Williams Elementary. I teach young artists ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth Grade. I believe on a well-rounded education and that art plays a major role in this as students are allowed to be creative and express themselves differently in the Art Studio. I believe it is important for art lessons to create interdisciplinary connection to Language Art, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
I graduated from the University of North Texas in 1995 with an All Level Art Degree and Education Degree. My certification is in All-Levels Art, General Education Grades 1-6 and ESL.
I worked in Lake Dallas ISD for fifteen years. I taught Third Grade, Fourth Grade, and was a campus ESL Specialist for Pre-K to Fifth Grade.
I started in Garland ISD Fall of 2014 as an Art Educator. I am privileged to have been part of a growing program in GISD. I have watched in amazement as the students grow while being exposed to create new things and reach new heights. Through Art Education I hope to facilitate critical thinking and creative problem solving while guiding my students to be visually literate and understand the world around them.

Music
About Mr. Anderson
I am the music specialist at Williams Elementary. I believe that music inspires us to be better artists and people in the world. We use music from all parts of the world to better understand ourselves and the people around us. Music incorporates all subjects and can help us to be better students!
I am proud to be in Garland because I am a product of Garland ISD. I attended Cooper Elementary, Webb Middle School, and Naaman Forest High school. I graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Music Education. I am also Kodaly certified from the Kodaly certification program at SMU.
I am proud to be in Garland ISD because all parts of the students are important. The academic, social, emotional, and artistic parts of students are important in learning. Music helps us connect all of those parts. I am proud to be a Wrangler!
