Stacy Carr - Assistant Principal

Principal Tyrance Barnett is honored and excited to serve as the leader of Garland High School, affectionately known as “The OG.” Having dedicated his career to public education and Garland ISD, he is proud to lead the school community he proudly calls home.

Throughout his career, Principal Barnett has served the Garland High School community in a variety of roles, including Assistant Principal, Math Facilitator, Mathematics Teacher, and Coach. His leadership experience also includes serving as Principal of the Coyle Technology Center for Math & Science in Garland ISD and as a transformational campus principal in Pine Tree ISD in Longview, Texas.

A lifelong learner and passionate educator, Principal Barnett earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. He has also completed doctoral coursework in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University–Commerce.

Principal Barnett believes in a distributive leadership model that empowers teachers and staff to take ownership of their work while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. He is committed to ensuring every student receives an exceptional educational experience and firmly believes that school leaders play a critical role in shaping student success. Above all, he is passionate about creating a culture where students, staff, and families feel valued, supported, and loved.

Principal Barnett and his wife, Laura, are proud parents of three Garland High School graduates: Justin, Meghan, and Jared. Their family has continued to grow with the addition of daughters-in-law Charity, also a Garland High School graduate, and Marni. The greatest joy in his life is being “Pop” to his five grandchildren: Holden, Marshall, Maddox, Harper, and Charlie.

Outside of school, Principal Barnett enjoys spending time with his family, listening to music, attending theater performances, boating, playing golf, and making memories on family beach vacations

Dr. Fegraeus is very excited to be a part of the Garland High School family, joining GHS as an assistant principal in August 2016. She graduated from Baylor University and spent 16 years prior to 2016 as a middle school and high school math teacher and testing coordinator. Twelve of those years were spent teaching students in Garland ISD. Dr. Fegraeus earned her Master’s degree in Educational Administration in 2004 from Texas A&M Commerce, and she earned her Educational Doctorate from Dallas Baptist University. Dr. Fegraeus is very looking forward to an amazing year of helping students and teachers!

Ms. Angela Haskins is proud to serve the students, staff, and families of Garland High School. She is passionate about fostering a positive school culture, supporting student achievement, and building strong relationships with teachers, families, and the community.

Ms. Haskins earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport Science and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. She holds certifications in School Administration, Core Subjects 4–8, Special Education EC–12, and Physical Education EC–12.

Her educational career began in Garland ISD at Webb Middle School, where she served as the Girls Coordinator and taught Physical Education. She later joined Wylie ISD as the Head Tennis Coach at Wylie High School while teaching Physical Education and mentoring students in grades 9–12 who were at risk of failing multiple core academic courses. After transitioning from coaching, Ms. Haskins moved to the elementary level, where she taught Physical Education and served as a Reading and Math Interventionist for third- and fourth-grade students. She also spent one more year at middle school teaching Teen Leadership, Yearbook, 8th Grade Math Intervention, and developed Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum to support student growth.

Ms. Haskins began her school administration career in Forney ISD, where she proudly served as an Assistant Principal at Brown Middle School for three years. She then returned to Garland ISD and has spent the last four years serving as an Assistant Principal at Sam Houston Middle School. 

Outside of school, Ms. Haskins treasures spending quality time with her three adult daughters cheering them on while they play college soccer and as they enter into their adult careers. She also enjoys attending all types of sporting events to support her students and is an enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs fan. When she's away from work, you'll likely find her gardening, camping in the woods, relaxing on a beach, attending church, or out for a run.

Ms. Haskins is truly thankful for the opportunity to work at GHS—especially knowing that some of her students from earlier in her career are now part of the Garland High School community. She looks forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to continue the tradition of excellence and success.

Mr. Klement is honored to serve the students, parents, and faculty of GHS as a member of the leadership team. His previous experience includes RTI Facilitator and 1:1 Instructional Coach here at GHS, and teaching math at Sachse High School and Sulphur High School (Southwest Louisiana). Mr. Klement grew up in the GISD system and graduated from NFHS. He went on to get his bachelor's degree in secondary mathematics education from McNeese State University and his master's degree in educational leadership from Lamar University. 

Mr. Klement is proud of the excellence displayed by GHS students and staff that is reflected in our A rating, National Merit Finalists, IB diplomas, ECHS associate's degrees, scholarships, athletic achievements, fine arts accolades, and industry-based certifications. More than all the academic and extracurricular awards, Mr. Klement is proud of the way students embrace the GHS motto "enter to learn; go forth to serve." He is grateful to be a part of the GHS community. 

Outside of school, Mr. Klement enjoys quality time with his wife and 5 children. Some of the Klement family's favorite hobbies include playing/watching sports, board and card games, reading, telling dad jokes, being outside, traveling, and being involved in church activities.
