AP courses
Garland High School offers advanced placement courses in a wide variety of subjects. Students enrolled in these college-level courses may take an examination in the spring. The results of are used by many colleges and universities to award college credit and saving a significant amount on tuition.

AP classes
AP exam registration
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses. Garland High School desires that all students take AP exams for the AP classes that they are enrolled in. Scoring well on an AP exam can often earn students college credit for their high school class, saving a significant amount on tuition.
For the 2025 AP exams, students at Garland High School will be registering online through AP College Board using the students myAP College Board account.
This year the district will pay all exams fees for students who attend the required number of study session in that content area (see back for more details.)
If you do not attend the study sessions the cost will be $94 ($29 if qualify for free/reduced lunch*)
*If you participate in the free/reduced lunch program, please remember to check the box when registering.
Any student who registers for an exam and does not take it, will be charged a $40 restocking fee.

AP study sessions
Students must attend full study sessions for EACH content area in which they take an AP exam in order to receive a fee waiver for that exam.
Students who currently receive testing accommodations through special education or 504 must apply to receive these same accommodations on College Board tests.
