Spirit Link Competition
- Each class will compete to see which class can raise the most money.
- The money raised will go straight back to the individual classes.
- Turn your donation into your Class Officers or your class buckets in the lunch room, during all lunches.
- For every 10 cents donated, the Class Officers will hang a spirit link in the Cafeteria
- Let's fill the Cafeteria!
Homecoming Mum and Garter Colors
9th grade - Black and Gold Ribbons
10th grade - Black and Gold Ribbons
11th grade - Black and Gold Ribbons, Plus one strip of any other color, including white
12th grade - Anything goes!
Wear your mums/garters to school on Friday of Homecoming week and to the game!
Community Pep Rally
Every year, Garland High School brings together the GHS community for a lively Community Pep Rally. Alumni and community members are warmly invited to join the fun and show their spirit. Stay tuned—details will be announced Fall 2025.
Non-GHS Homecoming Date Information
If you bring a date from a different school, there are requirements.
- They cannot exceed 19 years old, 20+ will not be permitted.
- They must provide proof of their age, showing their current school ID or driver’s license at the door and be in dress code.
- You must wait to purchase their ticket during the last week of sales, you do not get the GHS first week discount. Price for your date is: $40.
- You must sign a form/contract for your date and turn it in with your date’s signature and their principal’s signature plus business card. Pick up date contracts early, due last week!
- No college students will be permitted to attend.
Dress Code
Females:
Girls are encouraged to wear formal dress attire. Pantsuits and dress slacks are also acceptable. Strapless and spaghetti straps will be permitted, but bras or undergarments may not be visible.
Dress Reminders:
- Dresses should be fingertip length.
- Dress may not be extremely low-cut in the front or back. The front of the dress must not fall below the bra line; the back of the dress must not fall below the waist. No two piece dresses will be permitted; no see-through or stomach revealing dresses will be allowed.
Males:
Boys are encouraged to wear formal attire. Suggestions: a suit or sports coat, slacks, nice shoes, a nice shirt, and a tie.
Dress Reminders:
- Torn clothing will not be permitted.
- No tank tops, see-through clothing, or sagging pants.
