Mr. Rodriguez attended and graduated from The University of Puerto Rico with honors.  He obtained a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce) and a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from University of Texas Dallas (an A.B.D).

Prior to coming to GISD, Mr. Rodriguez worked for 20 years in Dallas ISD, as an ESOL Teacher, an Assistant Principal, and a Principal.

In January 2010, he came to GISD as a substitute teacher and quickly became an At-Risk Administrator at Garland High School in July 2010. Mr. Rodriguez states that it was the "best career move I have ever made."
