AVID

Golden Meadows is a proud participant in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program.

Each summer our AVID Site Team attends AVID Summer Institute to enhance their teaching. Once back on campus, the Site Team serves as teacher leaders across each grade level to ensure we are aligned in implementing strategies to close the achievement gap. We do this to promote college readiness, further current success, and give students ownership of their learning. GM hosts regular AVID nights to keep parents knowledgeable about how their student is learning and what that looks like in each grade level classroom.

SEL

Golden Meadows is proud to announce we are a Gold Metal SEL Campus for the 2nd year in a row!

At GM we make it a point to make students, staff and visitors feel welcomed, acknowledged and heard. Our staff does this consistently by focusing on our three signature practices: Welcoming Rituals, Engaging Practices and Optimistic Closures. Students are positively greeted as soon as they walk into our doors, participate in hands on activities throughout the day, and end each day with a promising outlook for tomorrow. Our SEL program supports the importance of family, social-emotional growth, as well as academic development in our campus and community.

SEL has impacted my students this year in many different ways. The daily 10 minute morning meetings have opened up multiple opportunities to have deep conversations, earn trust in each other and build up their confidence in dealing with real-life situations. - Mrs. Faz
