Academics

Is your student college ready?

For the best chance of making your visions of success a reality, preparing for your student's future has to start much earlier than graduation. GISD believes that "college and career readiness" begins in elementary school and encompasses a strong academic foundation including all aspects of the GISD Portrait of a Graduate. Additionally, GISD has identified some key steps students should take to get ready, setting the stage for future success.

AVID

Golden Meadows is a proud participant in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. Across each grade level we implement strategies to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success. GM hosts regular AVID nights to keep parents knowledgeable about how their student is learning and what that looks like in each grade level classroom.

For more information about AVID in the district please visit the district website.
