Folklórico is a combination of impressive footwork, colorful skirts called fladeo, rhythm and great Mexican culture. This year Golden Meadows is proud to say our 5th grade students are participating in a Folklórico program. This celebration of joy and culture comes just in time for Hispanic Heritage Month. 

Our GM Safety Patrol is a voluntary leadership group of 5th grade students who assist younger students to their cars for dismissal. Safety patrol members also help with morning announcements and with raising and lowering the US and Texas flags. 

Honor Choir is a special privilege only offered to 4th and 5th graders. Led by Ms. Olivas, students meet Wednesday's after school to practice.

Throughout the school year Golden Meadows hosts multiple family events that highlight best instructional practices, current information in education and fun activities for families on our campus. Once a trimester Perot Science Museum comes to set up engaging booths and games that incorporate a specific science theme, which all ties into our state standards. We also hold Reading Nights, where teachers and students teach and explain grade level appropriate reading strategies through engaging presentations. 

Golden Meadows is a proud participant in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. Across each grade level we implement strategies to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success.

Through AVID we help students become proud academic and student leaders on campus. GM hosts regular AVID nights to keep parents knowledgeable about how their student is learning and what that looks like in each grade level classroom. Our AVID leaders host booths and explain different campus used strategies, stemming from WICOR, to parents and students.

Robotics Club meets on Tuesday after school in Ms. Olivas' room. Students can join Robotics if they are not already attending tutorials and must be passing classes.
