Regular school office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

School hours

8:10 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Cafeteria doors open at 7:30 a.m. each morning. From 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. students in kindergarten through third grade wait in their hallways at designated locations, students in forth and fifth grade wait in the gym. At 7:50 a.m. students are released to the classrooms for breakfast. All students at Handley STEM are offered free breakfast each school day. The tardy bell rings at 8:10 a.m. Please refer to the Policies and Procedures regarding tardies and dismissal.

Understanding school hours

• Arrival by 8:09 a.m. is considered on time.
• Arrival by 8:10-8:19 a.m. is tardy.
• Arrival by 8:20 a.m. or later will be counted as a partial day absence. 

Announcements and pledges

The Pledge of Allegiance and The Pledge to the Texas Flag will be held each day at 8:15 a.m. over the PA system. Additional announcements may be made at the end of the day. It is imperative that students are present for daily announcements. 

Lunch times

Parents wanting to eat lunch with their scholar can sign up starting 10-24-2025. Space is very limited in our cafeteria. The sign-up sheet will be located in the principal's Handley Happening newsletter. Parents who have signed up for lunch with their scholar, must enter through the front office and obtain a visitor badge through the Raptor system. For safety reasons, badges must worn at all times and parents will only be able to eat with their child.

Specials/teacher conference times

Parents needing to contact their child's teacher should do so after school hours or during their scheduled daily conference time.
