Literacy celebrations
Virtual Literacy Night
Our first ever Virtual Literacy Night was a huge success. We had over 130 participants and gave away tons of prizes. Mr. Pineros' class won the week of free dress for the most classroom participation. They have also selected a Tik Tok video that our administrators will learn and perform for our campus.
Activities from our Virtual Literacy Night included:
- Read alouds by Handley staff members
- Literacy scavenger hunt
- Boom card activities
- Word Find game
- Resources for parents
Book dioramas
What do you visualize when you read a book? What images do you see? What do you remember? The Handley Elementary scholars created book dioramas of what they “see” when they read their favorite children’s book. They used their imagination, their creativity, and lots of hard work to make these amazing projects! Our staff is so proud of each and every single one of our talented scholars. Panther Pride!
March Madness with myON winner
Handley Elementary won the 2021 March Madness with myON competition for the most minutes read compared to other elementary school's in our district.
Create your own character contest
Handley Scholars celebrated Dr. Seuss by participating in the Create Your Own Dr. Seuss inspired character contest.
Congratulations to our winners!
