I am so happy to be one of your child’s counselors this year. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Bilingual Education from Texas Wesleyan University in 1997, a Masters in School Counseling from Amberton University in 2008 and a Certificate in School Administration from Lamar University in 2012.
I was a bilingual teacher for nine years, and I have been a school counselor for ten years. I became a counselor because I knew that as a counselor I could have a greater influence in preparing our students to become productive, respectful, and responsible citizens.
I am also a Love and Logic parent trainer.
I previously served as Handley's counselor from 2005-2010. I am super excited about returning to Handley Elementary as one of the two counselors.
I graduated and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising & Design in 2001 and my Masters in Counseling in 1993, both from Prairie View A&M University.
I have worked in Garland ISD for 22 years as a former high school special education teacher, middle school counselor and elementary counselor.
I enjoy the following : spending time with my family, mentoring students, crafts, basketball and Taekwondo.
