Mrs. Hicks is the Herfurth Principal. She has been an administrator since 2003. She has previously led two public Montessori campuses and also helped start a gifted and talented middle school in another school district. She came to Herfurth to help bridge the transition from a traditional campus to a Montessori magnet campus. Mrs. Hicks has been married to her husband Travis since 2003 and has three children, Kyle, Avery, and Nathan. All three of the children started school in the Montessori world.
Mrs. Martinez is Herfurth’s Assistant Principal. She has been in education for 20 years. She started out as an elementary teacher in Mesquite and Rockwall before joining Garland ISD in 2004. While in GISD, Ms. Martinez was a classroom teacher for 7 years, and then spent 5 years as an Instructional Support Teacher. This is her fourth year at Herfurth. Mrs.Martinez graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Early Childhood Specialization) and earned her Master’s of Education from Texas A&M University in Commerce. Mrs. Martinez and her husband, Kelly, were married in 2018. Together, they have a first grader here at Herfurth, a senior at Rowlett High School, one in college, and three out in the adult world!
Mrs. Lawrence is Herfurth's counselor. Mrs. Lawrence has been an educator in the Garland School System for twenty years. She taught middle school English for three years, and this is her eighteenth year as a counselor at Herfurth. She received her bachelor’s degree from Southwest Texas State University and her master’s degree in School Counseling from Texas A&M at Commerce. She resides in Rowlett with her husband and two beautiful daughters.
