Amy Singh, Assistant Principal
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Herfurth Elementary! I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be joining this amazing campus and community. Relationship building has always been the most important part of my role as an educator, and I am committed to building positive relationships with Herfurth students, teachers, and community members.
This will mark my eighth year in education, and my first year in Garland ISD. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Trinity University and my Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After starting my career by teaching 3rd grade in Houston ISD, I moved back to San Antonio, where I taught 4th grade and 7th grade. I am truly excited to start my journey as an administrator here at Herfurth.
My husband, Daman, and I have been married for 6 years. In August 2023, we welcomed our daughter, Jane! We are very thankful for Jane and are soaking up every moment with her. You have my promise that every decision I make for Herfurth students will be made with the same care and attention that I would give my own daughter. Everything I do at Herfurth will be in service of three priorities: ensuring the safety of Herfurth students and staff, providing high-quality academic instruction, and creating a positive and joyful atmosphere for all.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become a Herfurth Bronco! Please do not hesitate to contact me throughout the year. I look forward to working together to make Herfurth a place where all students shine.
