Hickman P.E. Program:

A place where all students feel safe as they have fun learning the skills, getting fit and staying healthy.

The 1st nine weeks, students will focus on rules and procedures.  Knowing the rules and procedures will help our students have a successful year in P.E.  We will also focus on general space, personal space and spatial awareness.  Students will also focus on locomotor and non-locomotor movements.  These skills will help students to move and work together safely and successfully.

3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will also be working on basic fundamentals of volleyball.  Students will learn the skills and how to play the game successfully.

The 2nd nine weeks, students will focus on manipulative skills, parachute activities, and basic fundamentals of football.

Pre-k to 2nd graders will learn skills such as throwing, catching and tossing.  Students will participate in activities and games that will involve these manipulative skills.  Students will also learn parachute activities.

3rd, 4th and 5th graders will learn football.  Students will learn skills such as throwing, catching, kicking and hiking.  Students will be able to play the game of football successfully.

The 3rd nine weeks, students will focus on the basic fundamentals of ball handling skills in basketball.  Students will also learn jumping ropes.  Students will also do a FitnessGram Test.

Pre-k to 2nd will learn ball handling skills such as dribbling, shooting and passing successfully.  Students will also learn how to jump ropes.  3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball. Students will learn basketball fundamentals and how to play the game successfully.

Students will also be taking their FitnessGram Test.

The 4th nine weeks, students will focus on basic fundamentals of soccer, kickball and wiffle ball.  

Pre-k to 2nd graders will learn the skills and will be able to participate successfully in the modified games of these sports.  3rd, 4th and 5th graders will learn the basic skills and will be able to play these sports successfully.
