Dear Garland ISD Family:
The Texas Education Agency today recommended that schools continue to require masks for students and staff. Garland ISD will continue to require masks for all staff and students while they are in our facilities.
As a community, we have a shared commitment to protecting not only ourselves, but also those around us. In Garland ISD, the protocols we have put in place, including masks, have helped us safely reopen schools while keeping the health of our staff and students our top priority.
All teachers and school staff are now eligible to receive vaccines, which is a huge step in returning all students to face-to-face learning in 2021-22. We all look forward to the day when masks will no longer be a requirement, based on guidance from our local health authorities and the Texas Education Agency. For now, we will continue to mask up and stay safe.
As always, thank you for your partnership. We are #GarlandUSA, and we are #GISDStrongerTogether.
