Frequently asked questions

Are snacks allowed?
No 

Will there be homework?
Yes. Your child will need to read at least 20 minutes per night. Sometimes there will also be math homework that reinforces each lesson. In addition, there will be a few at-home projects. 

Will there be tutorials?
Parents will be notified by their child’s teacher if the student needs additional support. Tutorials times and days vary by teacher.

What if my student has a dismissal change?
Transportation changes can be made via phone call to the front office or email (to both the front office and homeroom teacher).

Please provide the following information:

  • Student's ID number
  • Student’s name, grade, and teacher
  • Bus number or daycare name
  • Date(s) the change is for
  • How student will get home instead (bus number, daycare name, or adult’s name)

Changes MUST be made by 2:45 pm. The end of the day is busy and we may not have time to receive or make a change after that time.
 

Things to work on at home

  • Reading at least 20 minutes a day
  • Reading and writing numbers to 120
  • Addition and Subtraction Facts to 20
  • Skip counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s to 120
  • Practice counting coins
  • Telling time on an analog and digital clocks
  • Write in a daily journal
  • Use the apps in ReadyHub to read and practice programs that are offered here in school
