We are so lucky! Students got to hear a sneak preview of the brand new book, Cold Turkey! The author Corey Rosen Schwartz joined us via Googlemeet to read the story aloud. Then students were able to ask questions to this bestselling author. We are so thankful!

2nd grade students had a very special field trip to our own GISD Natatorium! For 4 fun-filled mornings students learned and practiced water safety. "We are so thankful for the GISD Natatorium staff they were so kind and patient with our students.", reported 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Chairez.

Families, staff and students ages 5 and up can attend our free vaccine clinics at our schools.
On Thursday evening October 28th Hillside Academy hosted Trunk or Treat. The PTA sponsored this very successful event! The parking lots were full of decorated trunks giving out candy to excited critters, creatures and characters of all kinds. Students visited GISD's Rodney Reads bookmobile too. Thanks to all for your continued support and participation!
Every year librarians across Texas make a list of the 20 best books. Every student in grades 3,4 and 5 who reads 5 of the books from the current list gets to vote for their favorite. Students across the state will read and vote in January!
After a student has read one book from this year's list they need to fill out this form. When students have read 5 books and filled out this form for each book they will be invited to vote for their favorite!
Students are reading, reading, reading! Students earn a treat from Braum's for every six books they read. Students can read library books, books at home, Tumblebooks, MYON or EPIC. READ! READ! READ!
