Students in all grades at Hillside Academy learn about art and music through a comprehensive arts and music integrated curriculum that involves higher order thinking skills. We at Hillside and Garland ISD are committed to the education of the whole child and as a component of that education believe that:

  • every student should have a basic knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the fine arts.
  • a quality arts education program will enable students to develop self-esteem, self-discipline, self-motivation, and cooperation necessary for success in life.

Hillside students are very fortunate to have many opportunities in the fine arts. Kinder through fifth-grades have music class and art class weekly. Students in fourth and fifth grades have the opportunity to participate in our Strings Orchestra.

Hillside Academy students have the opportunity to audition for and participate in the Gifted/Talented Enriched Art program and the Gifted/Talented Enriched Music Program.
