Ms. O'Bryant serves as the Music Teacher at Hillside Academy.  She holds a Master's degree in Music Education from Southern Methodist University, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Dallas Baptist University. She has been teaching Music for 21 years.

Music at Hillside

At Hillside Academy, students attend music class once a week for 50 minutes as part of the IB Primary Years Programme.  Music instruction is inquiry-based and supports students in exploring rhythm, pitch, dynamics, and other key concepts through singing, movement, instruments, and creative expression.  

Aligned with PYP transdisciplinary themes, music helps students connect learning to the world around them, appreciate diverse cultures, and develop the IB learner profile.  The program fosters creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong love of music.

Select fourth and fifth grade students are invited to join Hillside Singers Choir - an enrichment opportunity for those who demonstrate strong musical interest, leadership, and vocal ability.
