Communication
Communication is key to student success, and at Hillside we believe communication is very important!
You can contact our front office at 972.926.2550.
We encourage strong communication all through the year between parents and the school. Teacher contact information can be found on the grade level pages, as well as the staff page.
Skyward email registration
Access student grades, attendance information, report cards, and more. If you are not already registered, please contact the front office. You will need to provide an email address in order to register. Your email will be entered into SKYWARD, then SKYWARD will automatically send you an email with your login information to you.

TEA student data portal
TEA has developed a data portal that allows parents to have access to their student's assessment information across administrations.
- Click on "Go to Student Portal"
- Enter "Unique Access Code" (which is located at the bottom of the student's confidential student report)
- Enter the student's date of birth
The reports provide historical state assessment data for TAKS and TELPAS for each student. The goal of this online system is to assist students and parents with tracking academic progress. The site is user friendly and the reports are easy to understand.
Parent involvement
There are numerous resources at the click of a button for busy parents who need practical ideas that promote school success, parent involvement, and more effective parenting. Visit the district's Parent Involvement web page to find newsletters for each month that are full of tips and suggestions to help at home.

Free online research resources
The campus library webpage has a variety of resources students can use to conduct their research. Students may access these resources from anywhere.
Time Warner Cable channels 98 & 99, aka "GRS-TV" features a diverse mix of programming developed by video professionals and by students in the Television Production Magnet at LCHS. GRS-TV is now available on the Verizon FiOS Television. Get all the news and information about the GISD on Channels 42 and 43 in Garland and Rowlett. Residents in Sachse should tune to Channel 43.
