Students may check out up to three items at any time. Books can be kept for three weeks before being due back at the library. Students will visit the library with their ELAR class on a scheduled rotation, but may visit the library at other times during the school day with a library pass. The library is also open before school everyday starting at 8:15 a.m. 

Overdue books

Fines are not charged for overdue books. If you need to keep a book for longer than 2 weeks, please recheck it. You may recheck a book up to 2 times, for a total of 6 weeks. If the book has not been returned or renewed for 30 days, it becomes a lost book. 

Lost books

If a book is lost, the student will need to pay a replacement fee. It is the student's responsibility to talk with the librarian to find out the price for replacing the book. 

The replacement fee may be paid in cash or a check can be made out to Hudson Middle School. This money goes into a book fund where replacement books and new books are purchased. 

Found books

If you find a library book that was already paid for, you will receive a refund. Your refund will come back as a check from our front office. Note that this process may take up to 2-3 weeks. 

Students can check out eBooks from Destiny Discover or MackinVia and read them on their electronic devices.
