Clear Bag Policy
To help ensure a safe and respectful environment for guests, Garland ISD has put into effect a Clear Bag Policy for all GISD middle and high school basketball games.
GISD will be extending the clear bag policy to all middle and high school athletics and VAPA events beginning January 24, 2020.

Hudson Sound Machine
The Hudson Band has 310 students in 6-8 grade. We have 4 advanced bands, a beginner band where students learn in like-instrument classes, and a jazz band. So far this school year, we have had 25 students earn a spot in the GISD All-District Band and/or the TMEA Region 3 All-Region Band. Of those students, 3 earned the distinction of being 1st chair. In 2019 we became the first middle school in Garland ISD history to have 3 middle school bands earn the Sweepstakes award at the UIL Concert & Sightreading Evaluation. During the 2018-2019 school year, our students earned 267 first division medals at the Solo & Ensemble competitions. Our Wind Symphony was ranked 6th in the region in their first time entering the TMEA CCC Honor Band Competition. Our bands regularly receive superior ratings at contests and festivals around the DFW metroplex.
Our Hudson Choir has over 300 members and are AWESOME! These are just a few of our Hudson Choir accomplishments this school year.
GISD Solo and Ensemble Contest: All 53 soloists and four ensembles received top rating of "I"
Region 3 Choir: Hudson Choir had 28 students chosen for this huge honor!
Upcoming Production: Charlotte’s Web - February 27th and 28th 2020 at Hudson.
Contests: The Hudson Theatre Company earned a distinguished rating at the 2019 GISD Middle School Theatre Festival, including five individual awards for our school, and one of our students taking home the honor of the “Festie” Award. I’ve listed the award recipients below:
