Join our theater program

To join theater in 6th grade, students should select the theater on their choice of subject form in 5th grade. Students can join theater in the Theater 1 class in 7th or 8th grade as well.

About our theater program

In theater class you will develop basic acting skills, learn stage directions, learn about the different types of theater, costumes, lights, sounds, props, makeup, become more comfortable speaking in front of others, and more! We work in groups to create performances at all levels.

Our theater company puts on at least 3 performances each year: the GISD Middle School Theater Festival performance, Hudson's spring dinner theater, and the Scarborough Fair Renaissance Festival.

The company consistently earns superior ratings at festivals and regularly has students earn All Star Cast and Tech awards at their festivals.
