Jackson Technology Center was named in honor of Mr. Ben C. Jackson, a Garland civic leader.

Jackson Technology Center began as Jackson Junior High School in 1966 with grades 7-9. Years later it became Jackson Middle School with its current configuration of grades 6-8. Jackson Middle School became Jackson Technology Center for Math and Science in the fall of 1998.

Jackson has received TEA Recognized school honors for academic excellence and is recognized by Texas Monthly as a 5 Star School.
