Welcome to the Jackson Family, New Vikings! 

Congratulations on your child’s selection to attend Jackson Technology Center for Math and Science! We’re thrilled to welcome you and your family to our vibrant Viking community.

My name is Samantha Martinez, and I am honored to serve as the PTA President this year. As a fellow Viking parent, I can confidently say that Jackson is an exceptional school, filled with passionate educators and dedicated staff who work hard every day to create a positive, inclusive, and enriching learning environment.

As we begin the 2025 school year, I encourage you to get involved in any way you can. Your time and presence can make a meaningful difference in your student’s day, while also helping you connect with other families, stay informed, and model the value of community engagement.

One of the best ways to get involved is by joining the Jackson PTA—a committed group of parents and guardians working together to support our students, teachers, and school programs. Thanks to your support, the PTA is proud to provide a wide range of opportunities and events, including:

  • Parent University
  • Annual 8th Grade Formal (May)
  • Reflections Art Program
  • Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students)
  • Student Dances throughout the year
  • Concessions at athletic events
  • Hope Grants for Teachers
  • And many other family and student-focused programs

As you can see, there’s a lot happening—and we’d love for you to be a part of it! Whether you’re interested in joining a committee, helping out at a single event, or serving on the board, your involvement is incredibly valuable. Even volunteering for just one event can make a big impact.

WATCH D.O.G.S.

Check out our Watch D.O.G.S. event coming November 

Dad’s, Granddads, Uncles, and other male role models please consider joining the Watch D.O.G.S. at Jackson. Become a part of this national men's group!

The 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program is (1) provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important and (2) to provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. The kids benefit the most from this program.

The program has been embraced by the Jackson administration, teaching staff, and students. I encourage you to “Encourage” your husband, grandfather, uncle, or other father-figures to sign up and make a positive impact on our kids. Please contact me to schedule your WATCH D.O.G.S. day as some days are blocked for testing.

For your convenience we offer an outline of the program in English  and Spanish, called “All About WATCH D.O.G.S.” A completed form is required before a father or father-figure can volunteer. All three documents are available in the Jackson office.
