Purchasing a yearbook is a great way to preserve the memories of your child's school year. The deadline to purchase a Keeley yearbook is Tuesday, April 23. The website is www.treering.com and the Keeley code is 1013195777253116.
Keeley is updating our ancestry wall in our front hallway. We like celebrating all of the different cultures of our students. Be on the look out for the multi-cultural doll pattern that will go home with students on Friday so that they may work on it during Spring Break. As students complete the dolls, please send them to Mrs. Bergland's 1st grade classroom.
Keeley would like to invite all of our parents to our annual Pastries for Parents event. Come and eat breakfast with your child and visit with teachers. Pastries for Parents will be held over two days from 7:15-8 a.m. The schedule is:
Thursday, March 21 (Kinder, 1st, and 2nd grades)
Friday, March 22, (3rd, 4th, and 5th grades)
We hope to see everyone there!
Keeley received a darling Dr. Seuss bench from David Sweet, Activities Program Director, and Mary Gallia from Brookdale Club Hill. The residents have been working hard for the past 18 months to make a bench for every elementary school in Garland ISD. The Noon Exchange Club of Garland helped fund this project. We are appreciative to both groups for this cute addition to our school.
Our Boosterthon Fun Run pep rally is on Monday, February 11. Pledging is now open for the 3rd annual Keeley Cowboy Fun Run. Our goal is to make $15,000 in school profit for chromebooks and technology.
Garland ISD offers support to families of furloughed federal workers with priority placement for substitute positions, meal assistance and community resources.
Keeley's Chick-fil-A spirit night was a huge success. The top class that had the most attendance was Mrs. Berglund's 1st grade class. They will enjoy a chicken nugget party. Mrs. Clem's 3rd grade class came in second place and they will get an extra recess. Thank you Chick-fil-A and thank you to all of the parents, students, and staff that supported this spirit night.
Please join us for a fun evening at Keeley to celebrate daddies and their girls. This is a free event sponsored by the PTA and will be held on Friday, February 1, from 7-9 p.m. There will be a live DJ, dancing and games. Please bring a yummy snack to share with others. Also, there will be pictures available for purchase. We can't wait to see you there!
Lukas Hernandez, a 5th-grader, was the last person standing during the Spelling Bee at Keeley.
Keeley is excited to host a Skyward family access workshop on Thursday, January 17, from 8-9 p.m. in the computer lab. Parents will learn how to login/register for your Skyward account, how to complete your choice of school forms, check grades and much more.
Attend an exciting, interactive event that will showcase student creations and engineering challenges.
Months of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics instruction culminates at the fifth-annual STEAMposium.
