We know you have been taking pictures in this not so normal school year. In order to make sure that all of the student body of Keeley is represented, and to ensure diversity in the yearbook, we need your photos. The photos can be snow pictures, fun run, Christmas and Valentine parties, virtual classrooms, Trunk or Treat photos, etc.  The deadline to submit photos for consideration or to order your yearbook is Friday, April 30.

Keeley completed their 5th annual Fun Run and thanks to the very generous parents and friends of our Keeley students, it was a huge success. Keeley nearly tripled their original goal!! We truly appreciate all the support we received.

Keeley wants to give a big shout out to Asher Cooper and Connor White. Asher is a 2nd-grader in Ms. Castro's class and he earned second place in the District at the STEAMposium. His project won in the 2nd-Grade Engineering Challenge: Plant Discovery. Connor is a 4th-grader in Mrs. Ivory's class and he earned third place in the GISD Robotics VEX IQ Skills. Congratulations to both! Keeley is so proud of you.

The votes are in! Keeley's Teacher of the Year is one of our 4th-grade teachers, Mrs. Amberly Serrano and our Paraprofessional of the Year is our special education aide, Mrs. Malesa Rose. Congratulations to both of these amazing ladies on this well deserved honor!

It's time for your voice to be heard! Use your voice to lift up the library so the school board can see how important it is to fund the library We are collecting videos from all schools and then a variety will be selected to present to the school board. You and/or your child can share why you like the library or some way the library has helped your child. Entries must be submitted by April 7. 

On Friday, January 15, our 4th grade students were able to be a part of an exciting and unique experience. Hawkeye and Michelle Rodriguez from 96.3 KSCS came out to Keeley to bury a time capsule that will be dug up in 50 years. 

Two of Keeley's robotic teams, the Destroyers and the Flying Nuggets, competed in the Winterbots competition held at Rowlett High School on Saturday, January 9. We are pleased to announce that Keeley's Destroyer robotic team ranked 7th in the competition. This was their first competition. Congratulations!

Keeley has two grant recipient winners in the house! Our Speech Therapist, Janet Moore, and our Diagnostician, Dawn Shinn, both received grants from the Garland ISD Education Foundation. 

Congratulations to Keeley Elementary for winning the Vote for Books reading challenge for the most myON News minutes read. Congratulations also go out to Elizabeth Dafe, a 2nd-grade student at Keeley, for winning the Vote for Books reading challenge!
