Principal - Elizabeth Cram

Elizabeth Cram is thrilled to announce her transition into the role of Principal at both Kimberlin and Hillside Academies for Excellence. 

A product of the Garland Independent School District, Mrs. Cram's educational roots run deep within the community. She is an alumna of Kimberlin Academy, Austin Academy, and Garland High School. Her passion for learning led her to Texas A&M University at College Station, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education, laying the foundation for her future endeavors in education.

Mrs. Cram's career in education spans over a decade, during which she served as a dedicated classroom teacher in both Garland ISD and Houston ISD. It was during this time that she honed her skills as an educator, embracing a student-centered approach to instruction and nurturing the growth and development of her students. Her commitment to excellence and continuous learning led her to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. 

Mrs. Cram returned to the district that shaped her educational journey, serving as Assistant Principal at Kimberlin Academy for Excellence for the last three years. She is excited to embark on this new chapter and looks forward to working collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and the broader community to ensure the continued success and growth of both Kimberlin and Hillside Academies for Excellence.

Faviola Pena

Faviola Pena Soriano is honored to serve Kimberlin Academy as the Assistant Principal. She strives to collaborate with exceptional educators and families to provide an outstanding educational experience that fosters students' growth, academic success, and social-emotional well-being.

From a young age, Ms. Pena was taught that the value of education is priceless because it is one of the most powerful tools for opening doors and creating opportunities, regardless of socioeconomic background. As a result, she firmly believes in the transformative power of education and the opportunities it has afforded her throughout her life. She pursued a career in education with the goal of being part of the solution in ensuring that all students receive the support they need to be fully prepared for their futures. Ms. Pena truly believes that what happens within a school has the power to change the world. Therefore, she approaches her role with great responsibility and recognizes the profound impact school administrators have on students' ability to excel and achieve their goals.

A proud product of Garland ISD, Ms. Pena attended Montclair Elementary, Toler Elementary, Brandenburg Middle School, and South Garland High School. She has served in education for 13 years, beginning as a bilingual teacher, then as an instructional coach, and now as a school administrator. She has served five years as an Assistant Principal. Ms. Pena earned her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Early Childhood (EC-6) Education from UNT Dallas and her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy from Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Ms. Pena looks forward to working alongside families and staff to continue strengthening school-home partnerships that positively impact student learning. She welcomes opportunities to support students, families, and staff and encourages anyone in need of assistance to reach out. Together, Kimberlin Academy can make this the best year yet because, at Kimberlin Academy for Excellence, we are better together!
