Kimberlin Academy for Excellence received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency for 2025.
National Blue Ribbon School
Kimberlin has been named a National Blue Ribbon school three times. There is only one other elementary school in the state to earn such a recognition. Kimberlin received these awards in 2015, 1999, and 1992. A school is only eligible to receive this recognition once every five years based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

Gifted and Talented
Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented strives to be a valuable resource to help parents and teachers meet the unique needs of gifted and talented students.
TPSP
Each year students take part in the Texas Performance Standards Project. TPSP is a set of performance standards, curricula, and assessments for differentiating instruction and deepening academic learning in the gifted/talented (G/T) programs. The goals is for students to produce professional quality works as described by the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students.
PBIS
At Kimberlin, we use PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) as a school-wide system to promote and reinforce positive behavior, creating a safe and supportive environment for all students. This proactive approach helps ensure student success academically, socially, and emotionally across all areas of the school. We follow the acronym PRIDE (Purpose, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence) as our guidelines for success.

Students are able to use Garland ISD resources for at home learning and fun by using the GISD Ready Hub.
Online resources
