We are bursting with excitement to welcome you to Kindergarten! This year, we will be diving into the wonderful world of letters and numbers, exploring the magic of storytelling, discovering the colors of the rainbow, and learning all of our shapes and patterns. Get ready for a year filled with fun, learning, and new adventures!

Things to work on year round

Academics

  • Recognizing and writing numbers 1-10.

  • Identifying and writing upper and lowercase letters.

  • Counting objects up to 20.

  • Recognizing basic shapes like circle, square, triangle, and rectangle.

  • Beginning to understand basic addition and subtraction concepts.

Life skills

  • Learning to tie shoelaces or button shirts.

  • Putting on and taking off jackets independently.

  • Packing and unpacking a school bag.

  • Washing hands properly and independently.

Social-emotional skills

  • Sharing toys and taking turns with peers.

  • Following classroom rules and routines.

  • Expressing emotions and needs using words.

  • Participating in group activities and discussions.

Encouraging the development of these skills throughout the kindergarten year will help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
