Enriched music

Enhanced musical instruction

Enriched Music is a class offered as part of the Gifted and Talented Program.  To be in the class a student must be identified as either "Talented" or "Promising" in music.

Students in 1st through 5th grade attend extra music classes during the week.  These classes broaden their knowledge and background in music. In class we perform, create, move to and listen to many kinds of music.

Second graders in Enriched Music class

Students are taught using multiple approaches including Dalcroze Eurhythmics, Kodaly, and Orff-Schulwerk.

While singing is a basic part of enriched music, students also play a variety of instruments.

They explore music and movement through folk dance and improvisation.
