#GISD Always Connected
Music students and parents can check their grade level digital platform (SeeSaw or Google Classroom) for communication from Ms. Hollingshead on how to connect with her virtually during this time of At-Home learning. She is available to meet during her virtual office hours from 9:00-10:00 am and again from 3:00-4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
All students go to music class once a week for 50 minutes.
Students learn a variety of terms, symbols, games, dances, and about instruments in class. The Fine Arts department provides buses each year for third graders to attend a play at a local high school. Fourth graders get to see and hear the Garland Symphony Orchestra perform free of charge.
Fourth and fifth graders have the chance to play a string instrument as well as attend their music class. Please refer to the Orchestra section of this website.
All grade levels are working on note reading skills through singing, moving, and playing instruments.
This group is made up of third, fourth, and fifth grader students who show an interest in singing and performing. They meet after school on Tuesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 pm starting in late January. Shows are in the winter, spring.
