Our Family & Community Engagement department invites you to our second parent university discussion of the year. We'll have separate panels discussing a variety of topics:

  • All About Enrollment: Choice of School, AVELA School Finder, and Pre-K requirements
  • Fentanyl Facts: How to Protect Your Child
  • About ASO: GISD's Armed Security Officer program
  • Math Strategies: How to help your middle or high school student succeed
  • Transitioning to High School: Program offerings, earning college credit, graduation
  • Explore GT: What does "Gifted & Talented" really mean?
  • Supporting GT at Home: Ideas and Strategies
  • STAAR Scores Explained: How to access and review STAAR reports online for grades 3-5

All attendees will be entered to win door prizes. Childcare will also be provided, and a free food truck will be present. Session 1 will start at 6:30 p.m. and Session 2 will start at 7:15 p.m.
