History
Lakeview Centennial High School opened its doors to more than 1,100 students in August of 1976. The two-story structure, a comprehensive high school including college preparatory courses as well as industrial-vocational education, was designed through the combined efforts of students, teachers and administrative personnel assisting the architectural firm of Wright-Rick and Associates. Special features include a planetarium for use by all students in the Garland Independent School District. Opened during the Bicentennial year, Lakeview Centennial students selected "The Patriot" as school mascot.
Lakeview Centennial High School is a College and Career Magnet which began in 2001-2002 to students in grades 9-12.
Students may apply for one or more of the unique programs: Collegiate Academy, P-TECH: Criminal Justice or Business Administration, Business Magnet, Television Production and Broadcasting Magnet, and a Classical Center approach in Piano and Dance.
