Liberty Grove is having great success with the AR program. It is a highly effective method for motivating students to read. The program gives students instant feedback when comprehension tests are taken. Logs are maintained for students to record books read and tests taken. Students only work in the AR program on their personal reading levels.
African American appreciation
Every year, selected students perform for the entire school in honor of Black History Month. It is a great way for our students to learn about important African American contributions to our past, present, and future. Everyone can check out what a fabulous group of young actors we have!
Be a HERO
Liberty Grove Elementary supports HERO day, a program adopted by Garland ISD designed to increase student awareness. This program targets classmate respect, good citizenship, and how to prevent bullying in the schools and community.
Liberty Grove's library hosts two book fairs a year. Times and dates will be posted on the website calendar when scheduled.
This program helps our school earn cash for books, computers, etc. Support LGE by having parents, grandparents, and friends clip their Box Tops and send them to the school office.
Buddy Day/Gator games
Liberty Grove's Buddy Day is held in May. It is a fun-filled day of indoor and outdoor activities put together by Ms. Burns.
Are you Aggie Maroon, Raider Red, or Longhorn Orange? Liberty Grove Gators are college bound!
Fall festival - Boo Bash
Liberty Grove's PTA sponsors the Annual Fall Festival in October. Wear your costumes and join us for fun games and prizes!
Family night at Liberty Grove
Family Night for Academics is a great way for parents to see what all is going on at our school. Parents and students work together to complete interactive and educational activities and games. It is fun for the whole family!

Gator Swamp Stomp
PTA sponsors a dance at the end of the school year. It is a fun evening of dancing, games, contests, and food. Prizes are given away throughout the evening.
Grand Gator tutoring
Our Grandparent tutoring program is always an excellent program of community support. If you are interested in volunteering, contact the school for more information.
The honor choir consists of 4th & 5th grade students who audition for the program. The choir meets twice a week during school for practice. Each year the choir participates in an end of the year Choir Competition as well as performs for the school and community throughout the year.
Red Ribbon week
Liberty Grove Gators enjoy a spirited week as we support our Just Say No to Drugs campaign. Come back soon for details!
Fourth and Fifth Grade students have the opportunity to apply for a position on the Liberty Grove Safety Patrol. This position allows students the chance to have a leadership position and take an active roll in keeping our hallways, classrooms, and sidewalks safe.
The Science Fair will be held in December. Participation is optional for 1st and 2nd grade. Participation is required for 3rd through 5th grade students.
Fifth grade students have the opportunity to compete in a school spelling bee held mid-year. The winner goes on to represent our school at the district spelling bee.
Our students are Amazing! Students from every grade level perform for the entire school. Students can choose from telling jokes to playing an instrument. Pictures from the Liberty Grove 2013 show reveal that we have talent!
