Follow Liberty Grove on Twitter
Looking for the latest information about Liberty Grove? Want quick, timely updates sent straight to your computer or cell phone? We can provide all of that! Liberty Grove uses Twitter to share information with parents. Twitter is a free social networking site that allows users to send updates, or “tweets,” to multiple followers. GISD launched a district account in 2011.
Liberty Grove has its own Twitter account to share campus-specific news. If you are already a Twitter user, follow GISD at @gisdnews and Liberty Grove at @LGES_Gators to start receiving updates. If you don’t have a Twitter account, or don’t want one, don’t worry. There are two ways to stay “in the know.”
Log on to Twitter and follow the instructions to sign up for a Twitter account. Once you’re a Twitter user, search for gisdnews and LGES_Gators, then click the “Follow” button.
Receive text messages in lieu of signing up for a Twitter account. Text “Follow @gisdnews” and “Follow LGES_Gators” to 40404. Tweets will be sent as messages to your smart phone (standard messaging rates apply). You can turn off the updates at any time by texting “Stop @gisdnews” and “Stop LGES_Gators” to 40404.
We are excited about using Twitter to communicate in a more immediate way with our parents! Let us know if we can help you get your account set up.
Student insurance
Parents, not the District, are responsible for the medical expenses of their children even if their children are injured on school property while participating in school sponsored activities. The District will not offer reimbursement for medical expenses associated with a child's injuries. Many of these situations can be avoided if the parents purchase student accident insurance for their children.
Student accident insurance is available. For more information, check out the Garland ISD student accident insurance page.
