Principal  Dr. Danielle Riddick

Dear Lister Lions Community,

It is my honor to have served at the amazing Vernal Lister Elementary since June 2020! One of my core beliefs is that each of our children possesses a specific purpose and life’s mission. Our school works to provide engaging learning that inspires and challenges all students. Together, we will ensure students have opportunities to grow, learn and reach their full potential. 

Serving in Texas public schools since 2010 has afforded me many opportunities to work with amazing students and effective, passionate teachers. I have served as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and principal. I earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Texas at El Paso,  Master of Education from the University of North Texas and a Doctorate in Education from Southern Methodist University. 

Our goal is to consistently take concrete steps to ensure our students receive exactly what they need to grow as lifelong learners. Partner with us as we move forward in doing what is best for every student, every day. Let’s do everything we can to carry out Garland ISD’s vision of driving excellence one student at a time. Once again, it is my pleasure and a gift to serve as the Lister Lion’s principal.

Hello all, 

I'm honored to serve as Assistant Principal at Lister Elementary!  With 21 years of experience in education, I have served as a classroom teacher in various grade levels and as an instructional coach. Alongside my practical experience, I earned a master's degree in educational leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Drawing from my background in both classroom teaching and instructional support, I bring a deep passion for curriculum, instruction, and ensuring student success. I eagerly anticipate collaborating closely with families, students, and staff members alike!

In my personal life, I am a wife and a mother to two sets of twins!  My son and daughter are Sophomores in high school and my two little girls are in fourth grade.  I enjoy spending time with my family and going to Disney!
