Lister's House System provides a way to create community within the school. Each student that comes to Lister gets to spin the House Wheel and see whose house they will get to be a part of.
Purpose
- encourages positive behavior and academic achievement
- promotes community among all grade levels
- teaches students to take pride and ownership in their school
- promotes healthy competition
Students meet with their Houses once a month. Students also get to have House Thursdays where students get to eat lunch with their House as well as wear their House color.
The House with the most points for the first semester will be announced before winter break and the end of the second semester will have a House Party. Valentia was the winner for 2018-2019 school year.

Lister Gardens
Lister Gardens
Students at Lister have a unique opportunity to participate in growing their own garden. Each grade level was given a garden bed to choose what they would like to grow.
Some of the vegetables that have already been harvested this year are peppers, eggplant, okra, and green beans. Students have also been able to taste these delicious vegetables with their class.
Along with our gardens, classes will also be able to enjoy an outdoor classroom. Thanks to Mr. Floyd, Mrs. Moore and Nurse Wardwell a grant for $2,500 was awarded from the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) Impact Grant Awards to go towards the making of this special project.
Foundation has been poured and there is much more in store for Lister's outdoor learning environment.
