Class pets inspire students

Over the last couple of years, Luna teachers have been adopting many classroom pets. Luna now has a variety of types of pets like reptiles, rodents, and fish.

Students learn to take care of the pets, by taking responsibility to feed, and clean cages. Students also get to experience pets life cycles like shedding or changing shells.

This classroom experience aligns with the Montessori curriculum in science and practical life. It also develop community in the classroom. Students share what they experience during their turn for care of the pets.

Classrooms pets are unique to our students' learning and Luna embraces the learning opportunities pets bring.
