Meet your music teacher

Hello! My name is Rebecca Sliger and I am the music teacher here at Luna. I am a product of Garland ISD and graduated from Rowlett High School. I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education from New Mexico State University. This is my 12th year as a music educator and my 3rd year at Luna. I have an instrumental background and played the clarinet for over 15 years. My current instrument of choice is the Ukulele. When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, crafting and drinking coffee! 

 

Luna students attend music once a week during their specials time. In music class we...SING, SAY, MOVE and PLAY! We CREATE! 

Music lessons include opportunities to:

-Sing melodies from various styles and cultures

-Learn rhythmic skills through speech pieces and rhymes 

-Participate in musical games and learn folk dances

-Play instruments

-Create their own music
