Danielle Twitty is happy to serve as the proud Principal of Lyles Collegiate Middle School. With more than a decade of experience in education, she has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, district coordinator, assistant principal, and campus principal.

Mrs. Twitty began her educational career as a mathematics teacher, where she developed a passion for empowering students through rigorous instruction and meaningful relationships. As a district leader, she supported secondary mathematics programs across Garland ISD, partnering with campus administrators and teachers to strengthen instructional practices, improve student outcomes, and advance equitable learning opportunities. Prior to her appointment as principal, she served as Assistant Principal at O’Banion Middle School, where she oversaw curriculum, instruction, campus operations, and student support systems while helping lead gains in attendance, school culture, and academic performance.

Mrs. Twitty earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Texas A&M University–Commerce and later completed a Master of Education in Educational Administration. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at East Texas A&M University, where her research focuses on improving student outcomes through effective leadership practices, instructional systems, and equitable opportunities for all learners.

A lifelong advocate for public education, Mrs. Twitty believes that strong relationships, high expectations, and intentional leadership create the conditions necessary for student success. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in service, accountability, and the belief that every student deserves access to exceptional learning experiences. She is guided by her personal commitment to “Every Student. Every Classroom. Every Day.”

Throughout her career, Mrs. Twitty has been recognized for her contributions to education, including being named Campus Teacher of the Year, Garland NAACP Educator of the Year Award, and being selected as a Fellow with the Texas Education Policy Institute.

Mrs. Twitty is the proud mother of two children, Destini and Dalyn, who continue to inspire her commitment to education and student success. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in competitive game nights, and traveling. These experiences reinforce her belief in the importance of relationships, lifelong learning, and creating meaningful opportunities for others.

As Principal of Lyles Collegiate Middle School, Mrs. Twitty is dedicated to preparing students to lead with purpose, excel academically, and achieve success in college, career, and life.

Angeliz Alverio serves as the Assistant Principal at Lyles Collegiate Middle School. Since beginning her career in education in 2017, she has been dedicated to fostering a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment where all students can thrive. As a bilingual educator fluent in both English and Spanish, Mrs. Alverio values strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and the community.

Throughout her career, Ms. Alverio has served in a variety of educational roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, administrator intern, and professional learning specialist. Her experience spans Kindergarten through Eighth Grade instruction, teacher development, campus leadership, and professional learning facilitation. She is passionate about supporting educators, building collaborative teams, and implementing systems that promote student success and school improvement.

Ms. Alverio is committed to continuous professional growth and leadership development. She is a graduate of Garland ISD’s Aspiring Administrators Academy and Leadership Challenge, where she strengthened her instructional leadership, organizational management, and campus improvement skills. These experiences have further prepared her to support students, staff, and families while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

At Lyles Collegiate Middle School, Ms. Alverio works closely with teachers, students, and families to cultivate a culture of excellence, leadership, and achievement. She has led initiatives focused on improving student engagement and leadership, increasing attendance and punctuality, and strengthening professional learning opportunities for staff.

Ms. Alverio earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University, a Master of Arts in Applied Behavior Analysis from University of North Texas, and completed her Principal Certification through Lamar University.

Outside of school, Ms. Alverio enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants, coaching volleyball, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. She believes that lifelong learning happens both inside and outside the classroom and enjoys experiences that broaden her perspective, foster connections, and inspire personal growth.

Miguel Maymí-Malavé is thrilled to join the Lyles Collegiate Community. An experienced administrator and educator, his passion for building deep ties to the community and ensuring success for all students is evident to everyone he meets. He brings a spirit of innovation with a strong sense of tradition.

Mr. Maymí earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre from Stephen F. Austin State University and followed it with twin master's degrees: Performance Studies from Texas A&M University and Educational Leadership and Policy from The University of Texas at Austin. He trained as a cultural anthropologist and community builder.

His passion for education came quickly as he studied ways to make real impacts in the communities in which he lived. He began his career as a theatre teacher for seven years before transitioning to administration. He has since served as an assistant principal for six years. Throughout his career, he has focused on underserved communities and creating systems of innovation to empower students not only academically, but also socially and emotionally.

Mr. Maymí's innovative spirit has yielded exciting results, helping campuses grow from non-rated status to B ratings in one or two years. He empowers teachers to lean into what makes them unique and powerful educators while encouraging students to channel their talents and boundless energy toward their own vision of success.

Mr. Maymí is thrilled to be at Lyles and to LEAD with honesty, intentionality, and collaboration. He cannot wait to see all of the students' bright, shining faces and help guide them toward a college- and career-ready future. Above all, Mr. Maymí is committed to ensuring every student graduates from Lyles knowing who they are, where they are going, and how they will get there.

Gabrielle Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Wesleyan University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. She is certified as a Principal/Assistant Principal (PreK–12), as well as in PreK–4th and 4th–8th grade Mathematics. With a strong foundation in both classroom teaching and school administration, Gabrielle brings a deep and well-rounded perspective to every role she takes on.

Gabrielle serves as Assistant Principal overseeing Math, Science, and SPED at Lyles Collegiate Middle School. Under her leadership, Lyles has earned distinctions in Math and Science and achieved some of the highest academic gains in the state of Texas, including leading the Math department to the highest gains in Texas Math scores statewide.

To support this growth, Gabrielle has developed and delivered professional development at both the district and campus levels, launched the Math and Science Family Night, and implemented the House system at her campus. These initiatives reflect her commitment to building programs that strengthen instruction while also building community among students, staff, and families.

Gabrielle's key strengths include performance standards development, teacher mentoring, curriculum design, school safety, standardized testing, and program management, along with delivering workshops and seminars for educators. She is skilled at building collaborative relationships with school and community stakeholders, ensuring a cohesive approach to educational excellence.

A self-described lifelong learner, Gabrielle has a passion for serving low-income and underperforming schools. Her instructional philosophy is rooted in backwards planning design and data-driven instruction, guided by the belief that all students can perform at high levels when given the right resources and quality instruction.

Outside of work, Gabrielle enjoys spending time with family and friends, serving in ministry, music, travel, and attending concerts and sporting events. This same intrinsic motivation, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence carry into her professional life, fueling her drive to contribute to educational impact wherever she serves.
