Lyles Middle School has an exceptional Fine Arts program and offers several productions each year. Students are encouraged to find their niche in one of the many programs, including theatre, band, choir and visual arts.
Theatre
6-8th grade
Classes: Theatre I , Theatre II, Advanced Theatre III Acting, Theatre III Tech
Welcome to the wonderful world of Theatre Arts! This class will help you to explore all parts of theatre. You will have the opportunity to act, direct, and design. This class is also designed to help each student develop and maintain self confidence and belief in him or herself while promoting intrinsic motivation and the importance of setting goals and accomplishing goals.
Choir
6-8th grade
Everyone is welcome to join. We have one auditioned choir, Varsity Women’s Choir. There are several competitions and festivals we participate in during the year, including UIL competition, Hawaiian Falls Festivals and others.
Art
6-8th grade
In these dynamic art classes, we will be learning the basic elements of art and principles of design. Students will have many opportunities to create and develop artwork that allows them to express themselves and learn art appreciation. At the end of the year is the annual District Art Show, JRVASE (Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event)."

Lyles Lumberjack Band (LLB) is one of the most recognizable organizations on the campus. The legacy of excellence continues to drive the program's success and dedication to the students, their families and the community. Furthermore, students enjoy trips to musical festivals, social parties and field trips. The Lyles MS Lumberjack Band has been in existence since the opening of Lyles MS in the fall of 1987. Band students have earned numerous honors including superior ratings in the UIL Concert and Sightreading contest, membership in the Garland ISD MS All-City Band as well as the MS All-Region Band as well as awards in the GISD Solo and Ensemble competition.
