Lyles Middle School has an exceptional Fine Arts program and offers several productions each year. Students are encouraged to find their niche in one of the many programs, including theatre, band, choir and visual arts.

Theatre

Classes: Theatre 1, Theatre 2, Advanced Theatre 3

Welcome to the wonderful world of Theatre Arts! This class will help you to explore all parts of theatre. You will have the opportunity to act, direct, and design. This class is also designed to help each student develop and maintain self-confidence and belief in him or herself while promoting intrinsic motivation and the importance of setting goals and accomplishing goals.

Choir

Classes: Mixed Choir, Treble Choir, A Capella Choir, Tenor and Bass Choir

Everyone is welcome to join. We have one auditioned choir, A Capella Choir. There are several competitions and festivals we participate in during the year, including UIL competition, Hawaiian Waters Festivals and others.

Art

Classes: Art 1, Art 2, Advanced Art 3 and Accelerated Art.

In these dynamic art classes, we will be learning the basic elements of art and principles of design.  Students will have many opportunities to create and develop artwork that allows them to express themselves and learn art appreciation.  At the end of the year is the annual District Art Show, JRVASE (Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event).

Band

Classes: Beginners band, Symphonic band (non-varsity) and Honors band (varsity)

Lyles Lumberjack Band (LLB) is one of the most recognizable organizations on the campus. The legacy of excellence continues to drive the program's success and dedication to the students, their families and the community. Furthermore, students enjoy trips to musical festivals, social parties and field trips.
